“Sydney has an inner light and comedic gene that follows her on and off set - but the weight of a strong actress beyond her years grounds everything she does.”

- Alyssa Rallo Bennett, director, “Madness of Art” series

Sydney Miede (she/her) is a London transplant from New York City. Her first word was “taxi,” and she hasn’t been able to stop talking since.

Creating and telling stories is her first love– one she has nurtured both personally and professionally, and one now proudly etched on her college diploma. Literally. Ask her about her degree and she’ll give you her NYU Gallatin elevator pitch.

Sydney just graduated (with Distinction) from her Masters in Musical Theater at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, England.

However, her career as an NYC-based actor, dancer and artist began early, as her diapers peeked out from under her tutu. Quite the image. Did she mention that both her parents were documentary producers? It’s in the blood, you see.

At the University of Michigan, Syd majored in dance at its critically-acclaimed School of Music, Theater and Dance. When she realized dance, alone, wasn’t fulfilling enough, she found her voice at NYU’s Gallatin School in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2021.

She has trained in dance extensively for 20 years, studying theater, tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, pointe, and contemporary. She most notably completed Broadway Dance Center’s elite Professional Semester in Spring 2018, and then worked as an assistant to award-winning choreographer Grady Bowman on the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre's "It's a Grand Night for Singing" concert in 2019.

Remembering she could open her mouth too, Sydney studied acting with the Fiasco Theater Company and at the William Esper Studio and voice through the Matt Farnsworth Voice Studio. In Spring 2020, Sydney trained at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, studying Shakespeare in Performance.

Finding love both in front of and behind the camera, Sydney trained with Stonestreet Film & TV Studios in their Professional Programs in both Summer 2020 and Spring 2021.

In July, she had the absolute joy of playing Alice Spencer in the London Premiere of Alice By Heart, at Mountview.

She is now represented theatrically by Smile Casting in London, and actively working as a Voiceover Talent with Voice Squad  in commercials, animation, and promo. â€‹

She’s excited to see what her next story will be!
